new yoga instructor teaching tip no.2 part 2

lright, here’s Part 2 coming at you, instructors. Note that this is great advice for not only new instructors but all of us who need the reminder when life gets busy and hectic! Never lose sight of your personal practice.

🩷Refines Technique: Regular practice helps you refine your own technique, alignment, and transitions. This heightened awareness translates into clearer, more precise instructions for your students, minimizing the risk of injury and maximizing the benefits of the practice. When you feel it first, then practice it many times you understand it better and it’s then that you become an expert at showing others how to do it!
🩷Develops Empathy: By staying connected to your own practice, you remain aware of the challenges and limitations that students might face. This fosters empathy and allows you to offer modifications and support with greater understanding and compassion.
🩷Manages Burnout: Teaching yoga can be physically and emotionally demanding. A consistent personal practice serves as a way to replenish your own energy, reduce stress, and prevent burnout. It's self-care that allows you to show up fully for your students.

🩷Keeps Your Teaching Relevant: Yoga is a living tradition that continues to evolve. By staying engaged in your own practice, you'll naturally stay abreast of new developments, trends, and research in the field, ensuring that your teaching remains relevant and up-to-date.

I hope this two part post inspires you to look at your personal practice in a new way. Happy teaching!
